Pipe Dreams

Since we bought our house 2 years ago we have had issues with the sewer line backing up in the basement due to tree roots and the fact that the pipe is clay tile and over 50 years old. We finally, thanks to my Dad's good friend, were able to borrow a hoe for free for the weekend and since my bro finally moved home we had plenty of labor! We also decided to rip out the hideous bushes in front of our yard. The only purpose they serve is to collect leaves, no thanks.

Dad said it should only take 4-5 hours. 8 hours later..

Here is our house before.

Just a hoe in our front yard.  Standard for the Easley house.

So Dad started to dig, and we found a big crack in the foundation that went all the way through so we were able to fix that too! More pics from the day:

 Boys hard at work.

 Brian in the stink hole.

CD, excited about being close to done!

Showing off his ninja skills by climbing out without the ladder.

New pipe goes in. It was time for Minsky's and beer, for sure.

Papa's such a thug.

Done!
Yard full of dirt, no more bushes, totally worth it.

Next, we will be ripping out the front step and the entire sidewalk and re-pouring. Fun stuff!

Gardening Bag

My first difficult sewing project I completed all on my own. A gardening bag for my mom when she is outside, all of the pockets around the outside to hold seeds, gloves, etc. I gave it to her this weekend and she loved it!
